NABA Facts!

In December 1969, nine African-Americans met in New York City to discuss the unique challenges and limited opportunities they faced in the accounting profession. In that year, there were only 136 African-American Certified Public Accountants (CPA's) out of a total of 100,000 in the United States.

CSX and Winn-Dixie Join National Association of Black Accountants for Day of Service!

NABA Jacksonville Partners, CSX Transportation and Winn-Dixie, recently co-sponsored the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Day of Service at the 40th National Convention. About 80 conference attendees volunteered June 25 to spruce up Trotters Park in Orlando, Fla.

NABA members include African-American and other minorities in the fields of accounting, finance and information technology. The group holds a service day in each city it visits for its annual convention. NABA volunteers chose to forego visits to Orlando’s theme parks to volunteer for the park clean-up. Some members also held a workshop in a nearby community center for area residents seeking information on money management and savings.
